I’ve been doing the 30 days and am on day 4. I started about 3 months ago 😂 I work full time and I’ve got two kids that are 3 and 5 years old. It’s busy and exhausting most days, I get on my machine as much as I can for however long I can. I’m taking it super slow because I would rather take the time to practice now then rush through and burn myself out. I absolutely love the classes, super easy to follow and learn from.

Yes that's absolutely true that it almost takes a year as I am one of his students since last june 23 wherein I joined his 30day free course and which motivated me to take a plunge ro complete the full course and now I am at 90% of his course but what amazing journey it has been and loads of beautiful and great hearted friends I have made in past one year .Thank you Ben, wouldn't have been possible without you 😇🥰

So today is my first day of trying this. Sadly I don’t have any equipment yet but the knowledge alone is amazing. I’m more of a “let me write this down so I can remember it” type of person and I can literally picture parts of the lesson in my head. Great teacher!

Over the last few weeks i learned MORE and made more progress than in the last months watching random videos. So THANK YOU very much!!! I still have trouble finding the right depth and the right hand speed, bc. It feels like every needle is different. But other than that I’m able to follow you along until now. Not i stop and practice what i learned. When I’m getting confident i watch the other lessons. Again: thank you so much for the time, effort and knowledge you put into your videos ❤

I’m excited to have started your course Ben, all the information and explaining why of everything has been so extremely helpful! So thank you so much, your absolutely brilliant Mate! After this lesson I have a question, I noticed you started from bottom and worked your way up to top of each line. Does it make a difference if one was to work from top of line down to the bottom instead of bottom to top? Wondering if that affects line work like positioning does at all or is it the same, one can do either or?

I got my first tattoo on the inner forearm yesterday and it wasn't bad at all it kind of felt like a cat scratch other than my anxiety I was fine I just got hot.

Thank you for making this. It gives me so much hope. I have wanted to be a tattoo artist and collector since I was 13 years old. But I never had enough faith in myself or my skills to think I could do it. Then I fell into heroin addiction for the better part of a decade. Eventually clawed my way out 11 years ago and I’m still clean and sober today. Always had jobs, never a career. Art and tattoos are the only things I’ve ever cared about, apart from my family of course (and collecting taxidermy and oddities lol). I turned 35 in February and I have decided that I’m going to try and make my dream a reality. Even if I can’t do it, at least I’ll be able to look back and know that I tried my best. I am working hard on my art and building my portfolio. Trying to get tattooed as much and as often as possible when I can afford it. Still hoping to go the route of a traditional apprenticeship, but I worry that no tattoo artist is going to be willing to mentor a 35 year old with a family to take care of. :\ I would still need to work full time to pay the bills, and have time to take care of my family. But every free moment I have, I’m drawing. And I’m willing to put in the time and work to make it happen and my husband supports me 100% in this endeavor. I just hope there’s an artist out there who will take a chance on me without demanding my soul and my firstborn in exchange. lol. If not, I can always go the route of teaching myself, but that’s a much longer and harder road which doesn’t grant me the experience of seeing how a shop is run, managed, and kept. But I do have friends who are tattoo artists in other states who I think would be open to helping me with those things. At least I hope they would. But they might judge me for teaching myself and not going through a proper apprenticeship like they did, so they might just decide not to help me at all, which would be their prerogative, of course, and I couldn’t fault them that. Anyway, I’ve gone off on another rant. Sorry, I tend to do that. lol 😅 But thank you again for sharing this. It really gave me hope. ❤
